Port Zienna garments are made primarily from sustainable fabrics. We consistently offer the best quality we can possibly find, thereby minimizing our carbon footprint. We never use leather, exotic skins, feathers or fur in our collections.

Our mission is to source only the finest eco-friendly fabrics, such as certified 100% Organic Cotton and Baby Alpaca from Perú, Cupro, Linen, Lyocell, Modal and Tencel from Japan.

CERTIFIED ORGANIC IS BETTER FOR THE PLANET

Organic Cotton

Our Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS) Certified Cotton is 100% organic—free of all pesticides, herbicides and GMOs—and therefore better for farmers, textile workers, consumers and the environment overall as it improves soil health and increases water conservation.

Organic Cottons are more comfortable and softer to the human touch, since agrochemicals may irritate the body. They also retain moisture better, drape well, and are clean, simple and naturally beautiful to our senses. This is why we have partnered with organic cooperatives in Perú, our founder's home country, who help us ensure our organic cotton is of superior quality.

100% of the cotton we use at Port Zienna is certified organic.

FROM EUCALYPTUS TREE FARMS

Tencel®

Tencel® is a man-made, biodegradable cellulose eco-friendly fiber created without the use of pesticides or insecticides.

Production involves extraction from Eucalyptus tree farms, which require no irrigation. Water is used only to process eucalyptus pulp into the fiber. The Lenzing Group estimates that Tencel® needs 20 times less water than for cotton.

Our Tencel® fabric is extremely soft to the skin, smooth to the touch and luxurious in shine and flow.

ECO-FRIENDLY AND CRUELTY-FREE ALPACA FIBER

Baby Alpaca

Baby Alpaca is one of the rarest fibers in the world, and one of the most ethical products currently available that is completely eco-friendly and cruelty-free at the same time.

Alpacas are not killed for their wool, but caught by Peruvian farmers who take pride of the alpaca fiber and hold very close to their culture. Alpacas are raised, gently sheared and released back into the wild. The shearing process is ethical and animal friendly and done with indigenous methods.

Baby Alpaca is a term used for the finest fleece from the softest areas of the alpacas body, 80% of the alpaca fiber produced in the world comes from the Andean regions of Perú. The fiber comes in 22 natural colors and more than 300 natural shades, preventing the need for extensive dying to create finished goods.

LONG-LASTING QUALITY OF EXQUISITE SOFTNESS

Modal®

Lenzing Modal® is an eco-friendly cellulose fiber that is extracted from sustainably managed beech wood forests, by an environmentally responsible integrated pulp-to-fiber process, which is self-sufficient in energy and recovers co-products from component parts of the wood. Minimal water is used in the production of this fabric.

Textiles made of Lenzing Modal® are pleasantly soft and breathable, offering UV protection, as well as a long-lasting quality of exquisite softness.

This flexible fiber is renowned for its exceptional softness, feel twice as soft as cotton.

SUSTAINABLE VEGAN SILK

Cupro

Cupro is a regenerated cellulose fiber made from recycled cotton linter, the fluffy fiber around the plant’s seeds, by dissolving them with cuprammonium salt.

Cupro fabrics feel like silk on the skin, they are hypoallergenic, anti-static, stretch-resistant, incredibly durable and thermo-regulating, which means they dry very quickly. Given its cellulose origin and production process, it’s part of the same family of fabrics as Tencel, rayon, Modal and Lyocell, and shares the same high-quality eco-friendly benefits.

Also known as vegan silk, Cupro does not contain any animal by-products, additionally it is extremely soft and smooth to the skin.
